Nestled in the foothills of North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, 4440 Ranch & Cattle Company is a family operated farm owned by Madison and Ali Bumgarner and Mark, Jennifer and Tanner Saunders. We’ve always had livestock on the farm, from standard beef cattle to longhorns for roping, but it wasn’t until 5 years ago on a hunting trip out west that we discovered the flavor experience that is Wagyu. We knew then that we had to try to replicate this back at home. We purchased two Wagyu bulls to cross with our existing cows and so began 4440 Ranch & Cattle Company. Since then we have grown our herd and settled on a proprietary blend of grains that we developed to ensure each cow's nutrition. At 4440 we strive to raise our cattle in a low stress environment but with a high standard of care. We do not use hormones or steroids of any kind and only use antibiotics in the rare occurrence of a temporary illness. The results of these practices are a beef that is of the highest quality, healthy for you and with a buttery melt in your mouth flavor that is unmatched!
